Tuesday evening
Well they nearly dropped Pikey on the floor again today. Robert as pretty cross because although can get off her bed onto a commode she just cannot with her useless legs get back onto the bed again without help. They have hoists in the main ward but seem incapable of understanding her predicament and using it. Robert got very cross. That fault is not the appalling lack of nurses (the main reason why the hospital is an absolute disgrace) but a lack of common sense in just not using the kit available.
Any way she appears now to be cured of her pneumonia. She spoke with a really nice staff nurse and the nice Doctor Ong this evening after Robert had gone home. They are going to try to get her out of Ward 4 which is an acute medical ward and into a rehabilitation ward. There they have physiotherapists – she hasn’t seen one in three and a half weeks - and plenty of hoists they actually use!!
Robert is really very frustrated and lies awake most nights worrying himself silly.
