You can never be quite sure what your relations got up to in the past.

Pikey’s grandparents on her father’s side always appeared to come from impeccably and blameless Anglo-Saxon, Church of England stock. He was a Church of England priest.

Robert has been researching the family history and discovered some time ago that her grandfather had a half brother who, in 1901,was involved in a divorce (juicy enough to be reported in The Times) involving an married actress and her husband, an opera singer; she was a Roman Catholic to boot. Grandfather never talked about him!!

Now Robert has just received emails from Australia and Scotland which appear to show that one of her grandmother’s elder brothers, who ran a distillery in Craigellachie on Speyside, was married twice and abandoned his first wife leaving her with no support and a "wee bairn". He later took to the bottle and committed suicide. That first marriage and the "wee bairn" do not appear on any of the many family trees we have!!! Surprise, surprise!!.

Back to the present……. Annie is getting on really well at school and making great strides with her reading.

Adam is growing up fast here’s a recent photo of him – the ears are not his!!!

... and here's a slightly less flattering one of him just beginning to sit up on his own!!!
Robert is constantly surprised at number of people we both assumed were dead and yet their birthdays are still announced in the Daily Telegraph - Val Doonican was 83 this week and Norman Wisdom 95.
