All the news (good or bad) from Summerhill Stables

Robert has been hoping to watch the America’s Cup on the telly but it always seems to be postponed. His curiosity was sparked by seeing this picture of one of the competitors.

You can just make out the helmsman on the left miles up in the air.

It doesn't really look like a boat does it?

All the young grandchildren, Hugo and Delia in the States, Annie in Hampshire and Adam just up the road here seem to be doing well. Of course we see a lot more of Adam than the other three but there’s not a lot we can do about that as we are rather tied to the house nowadays.

Although the snow has gone it’s still pretty cold and Ingleborough is still covered in snow. It always amazes us to realise that when we lived at Rushup we were nearly at high up as the top of Ingleborough. When you drive over Shap there’s a sign saying "Shap Summit 1,039 feet above sea level" and it always amused us as we drove past to think we lived higher than that. Well now we’re bloody glad we have moved nearer to sea level!!!

Pikey has not been able to get out in the garden lately - she just gets too too cold sitting on her Ferrari and using her long handled tools really strains her back. So we are hoping to get some help in the garden in the Spring from our builder’s wife. She’s also one of Elinor’s new friends with a baby - having a baby really expands your circle of friends.
