We have had a cold but fairly relaxed week. Pikey went to quilting on Tuesday for the first time since well before Christmas and they talked and talked and talked. After Robert had done the shopping in Kirkby Lonsdale and taken Brindley for cold cold walk above Barbon, he sat in the corner and did the Telegraph crossword and then the washing up. What a life!!!

Robert's train layout is making slow progress but at least he's now got an engine and the digital controller needed to run the layout "wirelessly"!!!
We rather liked this example of modern education taken from a real exam answer.

The latest story round here is that an elderly woman called the police on her mobile phone to report that her car has been broken into. She was hysterical as she explained her situation. "They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator!" The police told her, "Stay calm. An officer is on the way." A few minutes later, the officer rang up control. "Forget that call. She got into the back-seat by mistake."
