Pikey had a quiet day in hospital which was probably a good thing bearing in mind the traumas of yesterday.

The orthopod has decided to realign the fracture and merely put it in plaster rather than plate it. They feel that the myeloma-based deterioration combined with the natural bone weakening caused by inactivity in her right leg would probably be such that any screws would not hold. Let’s hope that it works.

They should be carrying this out over the weekend.

One curious thing is that Pikey went into hospital for the first time on Robyn’s birthday and for the second time on Edward’s birthday. Elinor’s birthday is in October and Kate says that she not having a birthday this year.

One piece of good news is the contracts (or “missives” as they call them in Bonnie Scotland) were exchanged today on the sale of Kate’s old house which is jointly owned by her and Robert.

More anon.
