Are the Chinese really ready for the Olympics? Part 4

........yeah yeah yeah - I know the signs are actually in Japanese but saying that would spoil all the fun!!

When the stairlift mechanic came on Saturday he "mended" the machine by tapping a relay (deep inside the works) sharply with the handle of a large screwdriver – a rather refined way of using a "Birmingham screwdriver". Not surprisingly by Monday evening the relay had stuck again so out came another expert who replaced the whole circuit board with a replacement which did not include a relay.

It all went to show how reliant we both are on mechanical aids. We now have one Ferrari (with number plate), two wheelchairs, one wheeled commode chair (unsoiled), two wheeled delta frames, two wheeled zimmer frames, two loo seat risers and God knows how many walking sticks placed at strategic positions throughout the house. Some of them are in the garage in case we either get better or get worse and in any case they need to be there to allow us to move inside the house at all!!

It’s rained at last and now blows a gale every other day.

Robert’s knee continues to improve.

This week was the first on our own as both the Coopers and the Tippings – our next door neighbours - are away. We survived and even got to the dentist!!!

Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Robert and Pikey.
