Are the Chinese ready for the Olympics? Part 5
Annie was three last Friday and had a very successful birthday party, attended as you will see by her faithful Winnie-Pooh – as she calls him.
Pikey went to the haematologist on Wednesday at Furness General Hospital in Barrow. He was pleased with her and is keeping her on the weekly chemotherapy dose which makes her feel nauseous for the two days after she takes the dose but he has given her some stronger pills to counteract that which don’t seem to be working yet. She has to stay on her daily dose of thalidomide. All in all a successful trip which has to be repeated every four weeks.
On Thursday we saw her orthopaedic surgeon who declared her right leg finally mended. So it can be weight bearing after six months but there's nothing left of the muscles in it and he says it will be very slow process to get her walking again – partly confidence and partly physical. So we’ve got the two zimmer frames out of the garage.
We thought this cartoon fitted our circumstances pretty well!!! Despite the credit crunch, the collapsing housing market and all the shambles the present government has caused and continues to cause, Kate has, following her divorce, finally completed the sale of her old home in Dundee.
