This really is the hundredth post! In celebration Susie has very kindly updated the format of our posts. The photo of Ingleborough was taken out of our back passage – so to speak.

Also this week has seen the centenary of the scouting movement – two rather nice quotations from Baden-Powell’s seminal work "Scouting for Boys". "A soft bed and too many blankets make a boy dream bad dreams which weakens him" and " Bees are quite a model community for they respect their Queen and kill their unemployed"

Edward, Susie and Hugo arrived on Wednesday and go back to Norwich tomorrow. As Thursday was a glorious day we spent it round and about in Bentham and today we decided to take them on a boat trip up and down Ullswater. It rained and rained and rained but we managed to make the most of it.

Try this - it works for us! We’re passing this on to all our blog-watchers because it definitely worked for us and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following some simple advice we heard on the wireless yesterday, we have finally found inner peace. A phone-in show was talking about the stress of returning to work and the routine of a new week. Dr. Phil said that the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started and never finished.
So, we looked around the house to see all the things we’d started and hadn't finished, and we finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bombay Sapphire , a packet of Jaffa Cakes, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how bloody good we feel!!!! This Doctor Phil is a Genius!
Please pass this on to those you feel might be in need of inner peace...
Loads of love Robert and Pikey

Dr Phil's Medical Advice much appreciated here where - would you believe - I am recovering from MUMPS!!!

Now that I have a little energy I am going round and making a careful check of the fridge, cupboards and other hiding places ... I have already found and finished a box of Belgian pralines, some Applewood cheese,a large bag of Kettle chips...

I would go on, but it gets a bit embarrassing - having just lost the 'overfed chipmunk' look, now I know I AM an overfed chipmunk!

Love to you both and thanks for making me smile! Diana xx
