When Robert got up early this morning - 6 o'clockish 'cos he couldn't sleep - he watched the milkman very nearly get stuck in the drive. Since discretion is the better part of valour especially where angels fear tread, Robert decided to help global cooling and abandoned the motor car in the drive. He trudged into High Bentham to get the papers - he organises the Low Bottom Newspaper Co-operative for three of the houses here. The roads were icy and we are not prepared to lose our only transport to some reckless idiot driving too fast on roads which are still icy this afternoon despite a day of sunshine. It's bitterly cold by UK standards.
Pikey went to the Lunesdale Quilters Christmas lunch on Tuesday and enjoyed it - so did Robert since she was taken there and back by fellow quilters and he had a few hours off. She had had her follow up swine flu injection on Monday with no bad side effects.
No other real news from here except that we are getting ready for Christmas - have sent all the cards out and now await cards from the people we didn't send to.
Thought you'd like to see a cat picture - no reason!!
Anyone can get old. All you have to do is to live long enough. Groucho Marx (1890-1977)Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey
