The last time we wrote this blog we were waiting a call to a hospital.
Well, eventually we went to A&E at the NHS hospital in Lancaster and Pikey had yet another MRI scan to see whether the problems were anything to do with her spine. The previous MRI scan was taken at the private hospital in Preston so no comparison could be made as to any changes since that. They tried to speak to the "neuro-bod" in Preston but no luck as it was by then 6 o’clock on Friday evening.
On Monday we went to Barrow to see Pikey’s myeloma specialist who could not come up with any answer either. However all the differing specialists are meant be talking to each other and as we have a date (November 17) for Pikey’s next spinal operation we have rather concluded that we had better wait and see what happens, if anything, by then.
Tuesday was Robert’s birthday and Pikey went to quilting where all the girls gave him a card, sang Happy Birthday and we all had a delicious cake full to the gunnels with cream. Robert had sussed out what was the plan and presented them each with a spray carnation.
"Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live longest." A quote from Father Larry Lorenzoni who seems to have made quite a few good quotes; Robert really likes, "The average person thinks he isn’t." Think about it!!!!
On Wednesday Robert managed to reorganise Pikey’s sewing table to allow her to use her sewing machine more easily. It involved cutting four inches off the bottom of each leg. It is amazing how much difference a few inches in the height of working surface makes.
Robert’s finished completing the handbook for the First Responders in Bentham and Ingleton which took up a mass of paper, 1,225 sheets in all and 2,325 sides of printing – and that’s not counting the cock-ups he made along the way!!! The printer survived and didn't blow up!!!
Today Robert went to the dentist to have a filling –yuck. But all in all, considering that this time last week we were in A&E, it’s not been a bad week by our standards especially as Pikey's insides seem to have settled down pro tem and "legs crossed".
Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey
