We spent the weekend entertaining the Browns which was great fun. They were on great form and we had a lot of laughs.
On Monday the plumbers came to install the new boiler which went really well except that on Tuesday morning it turned out that there was a monumental airlock in the system; Pikey had a lukewarm bath and could not wait to activate her bath lift to get herself out of the tepid liquid. The plumbers reurned and it’s OK now.
On Tuesday Pikey went quilting with her new tiny tiny sewing machine – weight one pound twelve and a half ounces. It’s fine but very very noisy. As it only cost £20 we have now bought a slightly bigger one for £27.50 off eBay which should not deafen the other quilters. The real problem was that it blotted out their verbal chatter with its clatter. It’s not really so much a quilting group as a "Stitch and Bitch" group!!!
On Thursday we went to the hospital in Lancaster to pick up Pikey’s new boots (in delightful shade of burgundy) from the Orthotics Department. Then we went shopping and got stuck in the lift going down to the car park. We had to push the alarm button. Oh the excitement of modern living!!
Pikey bought Robert a TomTom for his birthday but he hasn’t yet worked it out really. It’s not so much to guide him (as Pikey loves reading maps – and she’s good at that) but more to warn him about speed limits.
During the week Elinor came down with Adam. He's fine and growing fast although still pretty noisy at times.
Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey
