In 1902, when Edward VII’s coronation was being planned, he was struck down with appendicitis. His operation, one of the first of its kind, was successful. When he was recuperating from it Alfred Austin, the Poet Laureate, wrote a poem to commemorate the occasion of his recovery two lines of which ran thus:- Across the wires the electric message came: ‘He is no better, he is much the same.’

Sad to say, one hundred and six years later, we still have no “electric messages” and “it is no better, much the same”. Nuff sed. But Margaret Tipping is now back from the Bahamas (followed a week later by her postcard) and is now in full hue and cry after BT as Robert achieved b****r all while she was away.

Charlie has got five unconditional offers for five different courses to read Mechanical Engineering at Dundee University – that’s really good news from the Scottish front.

Robyn, Tony and Annie have got a new cat to replace poor Burglar who died last month.

Not much happened to us this week at all except that it got slightly warmer and the residual ice has gone at last.

Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey.
