A promise from BT is as much use as a half baked rice pudding would be against a Panzer tank in the Ardennes offensive.

Despite "promises" we are still internet–less although we can make phone calls on a very noisy line. Incoming calls are still diverted onto the wickedly expensive mobile phone. Actually if the truth were told we are getting quite used to the situation.

But Robert cannot get on with his family history research and has very nearly forgotten where he had got to anyway! Instead he has taken up converting Pikey’s quilt patterns into cross-stitch patterns.
We went to Barrow on Monday. A six hour round trip – one third driving and two thirds - that’s four solid hours - in the hospital. The haematologist does not want to see Pikey again until January 5th – woweee!!! – as her results show no trace of the offending protein which is the indicator of the myeloma. This was fantastic news.

When she was diagnosed she was given about five years. So Robert planned our finances on the assumption that he would become a widower fairly quickly. Now, eleven years later, with the advances in the treatments (and there are still two she hasn’t touched yet) the betting on who croaks first is far more finely balanced. As Robert says rather philosophically "Oh well, every silver lining has its cloud"

On that lugubrious note we’ll sign off!!!

Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey.
