We have picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves down and started all over again and are going to get on with life.

On Saturday Derek and Juliet Davis came to lunch and brought with them all the necessary food and wine and more. It was lovely to see them. Derek was fascinated to realise that the picture at the head of this blog really is the view from our back passage. On Sunday Elinor and Phil took us to Farfield Mill, just the other side of Sedbergh. We last went there about 18 months ago and it seems to have gone down hill a bit.

On Monday we saw the physiotherapist from Settle who gave Pikey some exercises to do. Later that day we saw Dr Biswas, the oncologist-radiologist at Preston Royal Infirmary whom we had seen before. We had forgotten how nice he was and it turned out that he had been trained by the cancer specialist who first told us about Pikey’s condition. We are due to see him on Monday to be marked up for the course of five radiotherapy treatments next week. On Wednesday the chemotherapy drugs came in the post from Furness General Hospital and which Pikey has now started. They make her very sleepy but it seems that if she takes them first thing she can spend most of the day awake. On Thursday Pikey went to the dentist. What a thrilling week!!

Today Elinor and Phil have gone up to the cottage in Glencoe where we were due to go and are meeting Kate for the weekend. They are due there for a fortnight.

Parvinder and Habib are beggars in different parts of the town. Habib is on the street just as long as Parvinder but only collects 2 to 3 pounds a day. Parvinder brings home a suitcase full of ten pound notes, drives a Mercedes, lives in a mortgage-free house and has a lot of money to spend.

Habib asks Parvinder 'I work just as long and hard as you do but how do you bring home a suitcase full of money every day?'. Parvinder says, 'Well, look at your sign, it reads 'I am out of work and have a wife and 6 kids to support'. No wonder you only get a few pounds. My sign reads 'I only need another £10 to move back to Pakistan’

A six year old goes to the hospital with his granny to visit his grandfather. When they get to the hospital, he runs ahead of Granny and bursts into his grandfather's room. "Grandpa, Grandpa," he says excitedly, "as soon as Granny comes into the room, make a noise like a frog!" "Why should I do that?" asks his grandfather.

"Well Granny says that, as soon as you croak, we're going to Disneyland!!!"

Loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Robert and Pikey.
