Last weekend we had blizzards and gales and it reminded us of our time at Rushup. So Robert looked out this old picture of the scene there after a snow storm up in the Peak District. The difference now is that we are much lower down and the snow never settles for long ....... and so we don't get snowed in any more which is quite a blessing with Pikey's lack of mobility.
Today it was really lovely and sunny and we got a lot of work done in the garden planting seeds and filling tubs ready for a riot of colour in the summer. But when the sun went in we hurried into the house to get warm.
New people are moving into the "big house" next door tomorrow and they appear to be somewhat of an improvement on the last lot who have left to live down near Woodstock to annoy James and Sue Offen! The newcomers have a baby boy called Arthur and a spaniel - can't be that bad.
We were due to go to Provence to stay with the Offens for a week next Tuesday but due to real problems with disabled access at Liverpool Airport, the problems of Pikey sitting still for any period in a chair let alone an aeroplane seat and the fact that Pikey is still recovering from her illness, we have postponed that trip. Instead we have booked a week in cottage just south of Dumfries at the end of April - we can at least get back home in two hours if any medical emergency strikes. We went up on Saturday to spy out the layout and ensured we could get the Ferrari and its trailer into the drive.
Pikey has started to organise another nerve root block operation as she gets really uncomfortable towards the end of the day and we are waiting on an appointment with the neurosurgeon.
