Pikey has now collected just over a thousand signatures for her Myeloma UK Appeal. Thanks to all of you who have helped. There is no closing date as yet so keep the forms coming.
Robert thought that you would all appreciate the cartoon; it's from The Oldie which has the best cartoons ever since Punch hit the buffers.
Pikey has been on her reducing dosage of dexamethasone (a steroid banned in the Olympics!) as prescribed by her consultant. This week was to be the last week of the programme; however she has been feeling very nauseous which is one of the withdrawal symptons and the consultant has suggested raising the dose again and then reducing more slowly. As this steroid has caused all her weight gain and she has lost about half a stone to date (in three weeks) she is very unwilling to put the dose back up. So we are going to try another week before renewing the treatment to see what happens. Actually if you live with a disease such as hers and all the pills which she has to take you become quite adept at taking medicinal decisions off your own bat!
