We have had an eventful week.
On Wednesday British Telecom managed to connect our telephone line to someone else living in the Low Bottom complex and vice versa. Result - ring our number and you got him and also neither of our broadband internet connections worked. Robert went round and round the inevitable call centre in Bombay, Calcutta, Madras or some where else and the problem was sorted out by an engineer reconnecting the wires correctly in the underground junction just outside our front door. All is now back to normal.
Pikey saw her haematologist on Wednesday and was given a good result and has been taken off some of the steroids but is to have an MRI scan to see what is causing her quite serious pain in her back. The specialist does not think it is connected with the myeloma but is more likely to be her crumbling vertebrae.
Robert took his large cross stitch to be framed and promised to say that the framer that Pikey and he go to is wonderful – the framer is Westhouse Framing. If you need any picture framing done please let us know and we will give you the contact details.
We are away all next week to stay with Robyn, Tony and Annie in a cottage just south of Salisbury - back on Tuesday.
Love from Pikey and Robert
PS A joke for you.
A man boarded an aircraft at Heathrow and took his seat. As he settled noticed a very beautiful woman boarding the plane. He realized she was heading straight towards his seat and bingo! She took the seat right beside him. Eager to strike up a conversation, he blurted out, "Business trip or Vacation?"She turned, smiled enchantingly and said "Business. I'm going to the annual nymphomaniac convention in the United States."
He swallowed hard... here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting for nymphomaniacs! Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use my experience to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really", he smiled, "what myths are those?"
"Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African American men are the most well endowed when, in fact, it's the Native American Indian who wins in that department, that the French men are the best lovers, when actually it is the men of Greek descent. We have also found that the best potential lovers in all categories are the Irish." Then suddenly the woman became uncomfortable and quiet..... "I'm sorry," she said, "I really shouldn't be discussing this with you, I don't even know your name."
"Tonto," the man said... "Tonto Papadopoulos, but my friends call me Paddy."
