Last weekend we went with Elinor and Phil to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal. Very hot; very crowded: very beautiful.
The first surprise was that the swallows have made three more nests above the front of the house and the nest in which they have decided to rear their young is straight above the front door so we should get "bombed" fairly regularly and become "guano heads".
On Thursday Kate arrived with Charlie and Patrick which was the second surprise of the week. They are camping for two nights just outside Bentham on their way back from North Wales and Norwich. They are not always both quite as angelic as the photograph suggests.
Pikey is better this week and the physiotherapy at Settle seems to be doing her quite a lot of good.
