The two baby swallows who have been hatched in a nest outside the kitchen and who have yet to fly the nest in preparation for their flight to Africa - amazing and we all think Sat Nav's clever.

Roses in the bed above the drive.

Two clematis in the front of the house; the dark one's Niobe and the light one's Sugar Candy. What's the correct plural for clematis? Clemates??
Well, we went to Royal Lancaster Infirmary for the third time in a week on Saturday and it turns out that Pikey has not broken any bones that showed up on the x-ray but has probably flaked off a sliver from a metatarsal. So she was put in a "pot" - that's they call a plaster cast "oop North". We actually had to go back on Sunday to have the pot adjusted so we went to the same hospital four times in aweek - a record even for us!
On Tuesday Elinor took us down to Christies in Manchester to see our consultant myeloma guru who gave Pikey a reasonably good diagnosis and agreed that a second stem cell transplant was probably not on and did not put her on any more drugs for the time being. We see our own consultant in Barrow on Wednesday.
On Thursday Robert started on a course of cardiac rehabilitation which was not too strenuous and he has to go back every Tuesday and Thursday to see them in Kendal.
On Friday the stairlift was finally commissioned and it has made Pikey's life a whole load easier. Pikey had her first medium range trip on her chariot today - up the hill to the top of Birkwith Lane. At least it got us both out of the house and gave Robert the chance of a non-solitary walk.
Love to all Robert and Pikey
