What we wanted to know is what were the prospects for getting out to the States later this year after Pikey's right leg has become weight-bearing again - reasonable. We are now investigating full time carers to replace Robert - if that's possible!
Elinor has been back at work at the Environment Agency in Penrith for two weeks now and it seems to be working out with Adam going to day nursery bang next door to the office. A long day for both of them but we hope it works out OK.
Pikey is back quilting again although she finds the cutting out a trifle difficult not being able to stand. However Robert is learning how to do it for her quite quickly.
The carers who come on Fridays are a great success and Fliss who came today has even taken the blog address so we may have another reader.
A joke to amuse you possibly:-
A cabbie picks up a nun. She gets into the cab, and notices that the very handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring. He replies: 'I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you.' She says, ‘My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive.'
'Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.' She responds, 'Well, let's see what we can do about that: Firstly, you have to be single and secondly, you must be a Catholic.' The cab driver is very excited and says, 'Yes, I'm single and Catholic!' The nun says. 'Pull into the next alley.'
The nun fulfils his fantasy, with a kiss that would make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. 'My dear child,' says the nun, 'why are you crying?' 'Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess that I'm married and I'm Jewish.' The nun says, 'That's OK. My name’s Kevin and I'm going to a fancy dress party.'
