While we were away at the other end of Yorkshire we were alarmed to discover that lumps had developed on the side of Pikey’s face – no pain, thank goodness. We have had this manifestation of multiple myeloma before and it was fairly quickly resolved last time by an alteration to her drug regime. This time however we were rather caught out being away from home and when we had had an all clear the last time we saw the consultant.
Anyway we rang the hospital and they told us to alter the medication which involved the kind Tippings next door raiding "Robert’s Pharmacy" and putting some extra pills in the post. On Monday we went over to Barrow to see the consultant who was actually on holiday and they did all sorts of tests – blood samples and X-rays of her head – etc etc and we won’t know the outcome or the long term prognosis for a few weeks. More anon…..
It didn’t really upset our holiday as we nowadays always seem to live on the lip of a medical volcano and have really got quite used to it.
While we were at Castle Howard we were surrounded by peacocks and apart from the normal pictures of the display and front end of a peacock.............
Robert captured this stunning snap of its bottom.
A priest offered a nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident.
After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest apologised 'Sorry, sister, but the flesh is weak.'
Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.'
The moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
Loads of love ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Robert and Pikey.
