.... and now for the really important news from today's Daily Telegraph....... Here is a reminder of what this part of the British Isles can look like when it isn't raining or blowing a hooley....... it's called the "summer".

Pikey had her day-case procedure, the root nerve block, at Preston yesterday evening and the good news is that she is now out of pain; how long this lasts is anybody's guess. The neuro-surgeon was deliberately, we suspect, cautious about the duration of the beneficial effect. At least he found the correct spot in her spine to inject.
Apart from that news it's been rain, wind, rain, wind and so on and on and on. The Lune is awash from side to side of the entire valley and our river Wenning is a raging torrent as is the beck under our drive - but, at least, we are not marooned yet.
